I visited the central prison with a friend of mine today, it was total chaos with thousands of people visiting it. The crowds are uncontrollable and the police have little to do as the mobs are massive.
I suggest that any one interested in visiting the place be there by 8am in the morning when the crowds are less. Apparently the jail is going to be open for another month according a police man at the prison.
Things to take/note apart from you camera and safty
A hand cloth or mask to cover your nose (lotta dust comes out of the place due to the crowds).
Park below the bridge and walk rather than get on the bridge, take an auto rickshaw or bike and avoid cars.
